Sauce-Head, What kind of things would you recommend to ask to get conversations going? I don’t want to keep asking her the same generic things and sound boring. Thanks, Chad Chad, Good call. Avoid standard/boring things. You don't have to talk about rocket engineering, but avoid those useless facts that guys tend to ask and never get to conversation (you could use one as the conversation starter, then take the convo off in tangents) But most guys ask questions like How old are you where do you live do you have any siblings Any pets Do you play any sports? Where do you work? What do you do for fun? Those are boring! This isn't a job interview. Talk about what's going on, surroundings, and feel it out. If you ask her where she lives, then start up a convo off of that You: So where do you live? Her: I actually live down in Bellevue by 8th street You: Well then you must do a lot of shopping, seeing that you're just two blocks from the mall Her: [smiling] I LOOOve shopping. When I was in high school I'd go to the mall everyday, but now that I have to work, I can only make it there once a week. You: That's a shame. You should quit your job Her: [laughing] No Way! I'm not THAT obsessed with shopping [she's now set you up for some pretty good c/f, and you started a conversation off of a boring question. Just don't ask anymore of those dumb questions. Make the rule be you only get 1 boring question, and ONLY IF you absolutely can't think of anything else to start a conversation.] -Sauce-Head
