Pick-up Artist Question and Answer #3: Sam Sauce-Head,
Hey man I’ve been loving the articles and have really been learning a lot. I am having this one problem with a girl I go to school with. Basically I have a case of what you refer to as one-itis and have liked this girl for a really long time. I try to get her to hang out with me from time to time and she always seems to have some exscuse. One day I finally told her how I felt and she said told me she only thought of me as a friends, where should I go from here? Thanks man, Sam Sam, Each girl is different. But basically, you forget about her. You stop giving her attention, stop talking to her (except for a hi here and there... you don't want to be rude). If you talk online (I don't know if you're in high school or college), stop doing that. If you're one of those guys who never goes online it's even better. Being online on AIM is pretty much saying you have nothing better to do.
When you talk to her, you lay the cocky/funny on thick, and I mean THICK! You tease her, make fun of her, all in a c/f way. Who cares what she thinks of you. You're already friends...just keep it going.
Start talking to other girls. If you used to see this girl at lunch everyday and sat by her, well go meet new girls and sit by them. Let this girl see you can get any girl you want. Sit by a different girl each day.
Girls get really competitive about guys with their friends, so next time you see her friends, go talk to them...and even better if she's around. Flirt with her friends, use c/f, and ignore the girl who pulled the let’s just be friends on you. If she talks, give her minor acknowledgement then turn back to the other girls and continue the conversation. And don't spend a long time with them, talk for a few minutes, make them all laugh (if they all like you...eve better) then go talk to other girls.
If she calls you you're busy. If she wants to hang out you've got plans, or tell her you'll call her if you get a chance and don't call her. Start making it a joke that every time you say, "I'll call you" she knows you won't and she laughs. I drove one girl insane by doing this. She always would say lets hang out or let’s do this or come meet us here and I’d say, "Alright. I'll give you a call" in a certain tone and I never called her once, yet I said this to her soooo many times. After 2-3 times she knew it was a joke.
If you do things right, this girl is gonna start getting that wtf is going on attitude and start doing whatever she can to "conquer" you. But don't think she wants you, she wants to conquer you so that she can move on. So don't let her. Keep the c/f heavy, give her mixed signals, and continue with what you're doing. I actually make fun of these girls hard but in a c/f way where she laughs. I use neg-hits on them and all, but I can also read them and tell when they like it and when it starts to be too much. Reading is really important here.
This is a tricky situation though because she wants to gain control and as soon as she knows she has you you're gone. You're going to have to play this one right.
But from now on, you'll know to avoid the friends zone. It's the worst place you could possibly be. -Sauce-Head
